Welcome to our dream home! We built this home ourselves in 2001 and designed every aspect. On the main level, we have 10’ ceilings, 9’ upstairs and 9’ downstairs. There are 8’ doors and 12” baseboards to make all show off the Reeded Trim throughout this level and the master bedroom. This beautiful trim at the time we built was over $3.00 per foot and so worth the money. Out the keeping kitchen door to the herringbone brick patio, features the outdoor fireplace great for entertaining or dining outside. The gas lights come from the oldest gas light manufactures in the US, located in New Orleans. I drew the fixtures and they made them to fit the space and home design. The exterior has a technique called “weeping mortar” and after I had trained two masons to do what I wanted, only those two could brick the house. It took them 4 weeks to brick the house with this technique so it would match. The upstairs bedrooms are not just 9’ but each has vaulted ceilings. In the master, the sitting room has what is called a “witch’s hat”. The terrace level is open at the top so as not to feel like a basement. With a full kitchen downstairs could be an in-law suite. Full bath and steam room also add nice features not usually seen in your basic East Cobb home. We have a full wet bar, with ice maker, dishwasher, wine cooler and right off the double doors of the second patio, for grilling out and close access to a media room with stadium seating. The house has a whole house filter so all the water you shower in or drink out of the tap is already filtered.
